Sourcing an unsual historical shingle is always a challenge. This one more than most.
The existing shingles were unusual 3' long straight barn shakes. To maintain the pattern, we had to make sure that each piece was exactly the same width. But the mill couldn't get the sizing exactly right.
We found a way to blend the new shingles with those already on the house for a seamless effect. Our ability to perfectly color-match the shakes and the stainless steel nails helped, too.
“The MCS crew was superior to any other building company I've ever dealt with."
